Creating a £200 masterpiece in AI

This AI generated film was made by a seasoned filmmaker, Abraham Dawod.

Sure, there are large chunks of this film that have that ‘glossy’ and ‘cartoon’ like feel to it but what really struck me was the quality of the end-to-end production. The entire film cost a mere £200 to make.

“I started by taking a reference image from Shotdeck or Google Images and feeding it to Midjourney. It probably took anywhere from 20-100 generations to get what I was looking for which took anywhere from a couple hours to a whole weekend.

But the time-consuming part was animating them with HailuoAI. Usually took dozens of attempts over several days, and I would work on other shots while Hailuo did its thing. In terms of budget, my expenses were monthly subscriptions to Midjourney, Hailuo and Elevenlabs + extra Hailuo credits. Probably totalled around $200 by the end of it.” Abraham Dawod
